Service Description
Ancient Healing, Modern Wisdom is a 5-day immersive journey into Thai traditions, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and Ayurveda, held at Island Yoga on the peaceful island of Koh Yao Noi. Guided by Lisa Levine, Ayu Trisna Dewi, and Rose, this experience invites participants to reconnect with ancient healing systems through embodied practice rather than intellectual study. This immersion is not about becoming experts. It is about remembering that healing lives in culture, food, breath, touch, ritual, and connection to nature. Set in a quiet island environment, the program weaves education, movement, hands-on workshops, and cultural experiences to explore how Eastern traditions understand health, balance, and vitality. Thai Culture & Body Wisdom Led by Rose, a local practitioner trained in Thai Herbal Science and Spa Therapy, this day connects participants to land and lineage. Offerings include Thai yoga, silent walking meditation, cultural immersion (batik or Thai cooking), making herbal compress balls, and an introduction to Thai massage and bodywork. Traditional Chinese Medicine Guided by Lisa Levine, this day explores energetic principles through Qi Gong, foundations of TCM, understanding cold and blood energy, and introductions to moxa, gua sha, and cupping. Participants also learn food principles and healing recipes rooted in Chinese medicine. Lisa brings over 30 years of holistic practice integrating Chinese medicine, abdominal therapy, massage, and yoga. Ayurveda & Nervous System Balance Led by Ayu Trisna Dewi, a Balinese healer from a traditional lineage, this day includes Hatha yoga, discovering your dosha, Ayurvedic daily rituals (dinacharya), abhyanga oil massage, pranayama for nervous system regulation, yoga nidra, and Ayurvedic food wisdom. Daily Flow (Days 2–5) Optional Tai Chi or Qi Gong at 6:00 AM on the beach, morning practice, breakfast, educational sessions, lunch break, and afternoon workshops. Day 1: Arrival, welcome dinner, opening circle, and grounding practice. Day 5: Nature yoga, island or ocean excursion (weather permitting), integration circle, and closing ceremony with dinner.
